Chef-Patron of Nick’s Restaurant, Bolton
Nicholas Cullen is the chef-patron of Nick’s Restaurant in Bolton, which he opened in 2001.
Nick is a huge advocate of supporting local businesses and always encourages more people to shop locally, try new things and prepare dishes that use fresh, seasonal produce.
By working with local suppliers, trades-people, charities and schools Nick tries to ensure that the Restaurant plays an important role in the community in which we live. Nick says, “I love Bolton and it’s really important to me to put something back into the community in which we live and work.’
Nick also works closely with Bolton College and offers apprenticeship and work placements to budding local chefs. For the past 4 years, Nick had written a weekly column in the Bolton News, sharing seasonal recipes with the Bolton readership. More recently, Nick has been involved with the Bolton Community Cookbook in aid of charity, which was launched at Bolton Food and Drink Festival in 2017.
